To play with a friend online in MLB The Show 23, just go to the Diamond Dynasty mode, then select 'Play vs Friends.' Find and invite your buddy from your friends list and you're all set for a friendly match!

From my experience, the fastest way is to hop into Diamond Dynasty, choose 'Play vs Friends,' and pick your friend from your list. Easy peasy!
