To play multiplayer on State of Decay 2, just start your game, open the Pause Menu, and select 'Multiplayer.' You can invite friends or join their game from there!
You need to be connected to Xbox Live. Then, in the game's menu, go to settings, set your multiplayer to 'Friends Only' or 'Invite Only,' and then invite your friends.
Ask your friend to host a game and send you an invite. That’s how I do it every time. Happy surviving!
