How to Play Sonic Mania in 2 Players
To play Sonic Mania in 2 player mode, you just have to go to the main menu, select 'Competition' or 'Time Attack,' and then choose your characters. Player 1 uses the left side controller, and Player 2 uses the right side. Enjoy the race!

All you need to do is select 'Competition' from the main menu. Both players pick their characters and go head-to-head in split-screen action. Easy peasy!
Just grab a friend and head over to the 'Competition' mode in the main menu. Choose your favorites and race away!
In the main menu, select 'Competition' or 'Time Attack' and choose characters for both players. One will use the left Joy-Con, and the other the right.
