How to Play Splatoon 2 with 2 Players
Splatoon 2 doesn't support direct split-screen play, but you can connect two Switch consoles locally or play online together in a Private Battle. Just make sure both players have their own copy of the game and a Nintendo Switch Online subscription!

From personal experience, my buddy and I played together by joining a private lobby while on separate consoles. It works like a charm!
You'll need two consoles and two copies of the game. No couch co-op here, unfortunately.
Just imagine battling with your squid buds online for an ink-splattered showdown or team up using local wireless. Pretty fresh, right?
