Unfortunately, Sonic Forces doesn't support multiplayer mode where you can directly play with friends, but you can enjoy competing against each other by sharing high scores and progression!

I tried everything, but Sonic Forces is just not designed for that multiplayer action. Maybe challenge your friend to a speedrun instead?
