Sadly, Niantic stopped supporting the Apple Watch app for Pokémon GO in July 2019. You’ll need to use your phone.

Fun fact: Pokémon GO used to work on Apple Watch, but Niantic discontinued it in 2019 to focus on Adventure Sync. You'll need to carry your phone.

You can't run Pokémon GO on the Apple Watch anymore since support was discontinued in 2019. But hey, it’s a good excuse to get those extra steps in with your phone!
