Easy peasy! Click on the artist, click the three dots, and select "Don't play this". Boom, no more tunes from them!
If you want to avoid an artist, head to the artist's page and turn on the "Hide this artist" option. Works wonders!
Trust me, I've done this a ton! Just go to their page, hit those three dots, and choose "Don't play this". Problem solved!
