I just deleted my save data via the System Settings. Worked like a charm, even if all my progress said goodbye!

To reset Splatoon 2's single-player mode, head over to the System Settings on your Switch, select Data Management, then choose Delete Save Data. Just be careful—this wipes out all your single-player progress, so make sure you really want to start fresh!
