Just close the game and reopen it! That usually triggers the download for me.

Restart your device and then launch Fortnite again. It should automatically begin downloading the latest patch.

On console? Just quit the game from the home screen and restart it. Easy peasy!

PC user here: Exit Fortnite completely, open the Epic Games Launcher, and press 'Launch.' It should start updating.

Don't bother restarting. Just leave it open, and it'll prompt you to patch when it's ready.
