Simply put, don't sail against the wind. You'll crawl slower than a greydwarf trying to catch a firefly!
To sail faster in Valheim, make sure to catch the wind in your sails. Adjust your sail to align with the wind direction for full speed!
Use the longship, it cuts through water better and moves faster, I never sail with anything else anymore!
