You can find people on Discord by using their username and tag combination. Also, join shared servers and look in the member list!
Honestly, your best bet is to ask them for their Discord username and tag directly. Saves a lot of hassle.
From personal experience, searching for a username and the correct tag (e.g., Username#1234) has always helped me find friends quickly!
