How to Spawn the Steampunker in Terraria
To get the Steampunker to show up in Terraria, you just gotta show those mechanical bosses who's boss! Seriously, defeat any mechanical boss (The Destroyer, Skeletron Prime, or The Twins), and she'll be ready to move into any suitable housing you've got. Make sure you've got a vacant house for her; she won't spawn without it.

Actually, I found out the Steampunker won't show up if you don't have a proper house for her. So, defeat one of those big, bad mechanical bosses AND make sure you have a nice place for her to stay. Worked for me!
