How to speed up Steam downloads
UnifyingSlum路7 months agoFirst off, ya gotta make sure Steam's not competing with 50 other things for your internet connection. Close any bandwidth-heavy apps like Netflix or online games. Second, check Steam's download settings. You can actually limit download speeds there, so make sure you've not accidentally throttled yourself. And third, switch your download region in Steam's settings. Sometimes the server you're on is just crowded, and switching to a less busy one can speed things up.

I swear changing the download region was a game-changer for me. I went from watching paint dry to zooming through downloads. Just pick a region that鈥檚 close but maybe not the most obvious choice, like a city nearby instead of your major city. Worked like a charm!
Totally, just plug into your router with an Ethernet cable. Wi-Fi's convenient but can be slower than a tortoise in peanut butter when it comes to stable speeds. Wired is the way to go for the fastest downloads.
Eh, just download at night. Servers are less congested, and you'll wake up to all your games ready to play.
