Honestly, just dig a moat. A big one. Make your world's corruption its very own island. Sure, it's a bit of work, but it's also kinda fun.

Stopping the spread of corruption in Terraria is crucial for your world's health! The best way is to use the Clentaminator, which you can buy from the Steampunker NPC after defeating one of the mechanical bosses. It sprays solutions that can cleanse the corruption or convert it into another biome. Another way is to create a buffer zone around the corruption. You can do this by digging a 3 to 5 block wide tunnel all around it, as corruption can't jump across gaps wider than 3 blocks. Sunflowers on the surface also slow down the spread, so don't forget to plant a few!

Just cover everything in Hallow. Corruption can't spread through Hallow, so it's like fighting fire with fire but in a good way.

Sunflowers. Lots of them. They don't stop the spread underground, but they're pretty and make the surface safe. Plus, they boost your movement speed, so it's a win-win.
