If you want to block all friend requests, you can鈥檛 completely, but setting it to 'Friends of Friends' drastically reduces random requests.
Go to Settings & Privacy > Settings > Privacy > How People Find and Contact You. Change 'Who can send you friend requests?' to 'Friends of friends.'
Honestly, just make your profile less discoverable. Limited info = fewer requests.
