Easy peasy! Just go to the Scanner Room and turn off the scanner from the control panel. Problem solved!

Head to the Scanner Room, select the scanner icon on the HUD, and choose 'Deselect All.' That'll stop your scanner from working.

If all else fails, simply sever the power supply to the Scanner Room. No power, no scanning!
