Go to Task Manager (Ctrl+Shift+Esc), click the Startup tab, find War Thunder, and disable it there. Easy peasy!

From someone who's been through this—you might find that War Thunder added itself to your startup programs list. Go into Task Manager, find it under Startup, and disable it. Worked for me!

You can also check the settings within the War Thunder launcher. Look for an option that says something like 'Run on startup' and uncheck it.
