Just put it in your ship's cargo hold. That's what it's for, after all!
You can store stuff in your ship by accessing the Storage tab through your ship's interface. Just place items in the cargo hold.
You just go to your ship's inventory management screen and transfer items to the cargo section. Easy breezy!
In Starfield, head to your ship and use the cargo bay to store items. Don't overload it, though; that slows you down!
