Honestly, just mash the buttons until it works... kidding, press F key for a quick swap!
To switch characters in Tales of Arise on PC, just press the F key during combat to change to the next character in your party. You can also hold Shift to open a menu to select any character you want!
All you need to do is hit the F key while fighting to swap active characters. Easy peasy!
