Open the main menu (press X), go to Characters, and choose who you want to control. It's like picking your favorite flavor of ice cream!
Easy peasy! Just hit the 'L' button to bring up the character menu and use the directional buttons to switch. Happy adventuring!
During battles, hit the 'X' button to pull up the quick menu, then use the 'R' and 'L' buttons to switch characters. Outside battles, just press 'Y' and go to 'Characters' to change freely.
You can't actually switch characters mid-battle, but outside battles you can totally swap them in the menu!
