I've done this hundreds of times: power up your Xbox 360, press the sync button on the console, then the one on the controller. Simple as pie!

Turn on both your Xbox 360 and the controller. Press the connect button on the console (front panel), then press the connect button on the controller (top near the triggers). Wait for the lights to stop flashing!

Super simple! Turn on your Xbox 360 and your controller, then press the sync button on the console (next to the USB ports). After that, press the sync button on the controller (near the battery pack). The lights should flash and then stay on when synced.
