How to Take Apart a PlayStation 4
MuggingCreek·7 months agoTaking apart a PS4 is like performing video game surgery—approach with caution! First, make sure you have the right tools: Phillips head screwdriver and a T8/T9 security Torx screwdriver. Unplug everything and remove the glossy top panel by sliding it towards the left. Unscrew the screws securing the power supply, then gently lift it out. Proceed to remove the screws from the motherboard, being careful not to damage the ribbon cables. Keep track of where each screw goes; it's like a jigsaw puzzle in reverse!

It's not too hard, but you gotta be careful. Unplug your PS4, pop off the top glossy panel, and unscrew the power supply. Use a Torx T8/T9 driver for the security screws. After that, lift out the power supply and start unscrewing the motherboard. Make sure you remember where each screw goes!
I've done this myself a couple times! Make sure you have a Phillips head screwdriver and a Torx T8/T9. Unplug everything, slide off the top glossy panel, and unscrew the power supply. From there, you can lift the power supply out and remove all the motherboard screws. Be extra careful with those ribbon cables—those things are super delicate!
Dude, just take it to a professional. Don't risk it.
