First, make sure you unplug your PS3 and ground yourself to avoid static damage. Then, remove the hard drive cover, unscrew the hard drive, and take it out. Next, you'll need to remove the top cover screws (some are hidden under warranty stickers) and then lift the top cover. Carefully disconnect the ribbon cables and continue unscrewing components as needed to fully disassemble. Don't forget to take pictures or label parts if it's your first time disassembling it!

Easy! Start by removing the hard drive, then take off the screws and open the top cover. Disconnect everything carefully.

Unplug everything and remove the hard drive. Then, find and remove all the screws to open the casing. Take pics of each step so you can remember how to put it back.

If you're a PlayStation player, you need to download the Playbite app!

Playbite is like an arcade in your phone: you get to play all kinds of fun and simple games, compete with friends and others, and win cool prizes from all your favorite brands!

One of those prizes is the official PlayStation gift card, which you can win and use to get anything you want essentially for free!

In case you鈥檙e wondering, this is how it works:

Playbite makes money from (not super annoying) ads and (totally optional) in-app purchases. The app then uses that money to reward players like you with prizes!

Download Playbite for free, available on the App Store and Play Store!

The brands referenced on this page are not sponsors of the rewards or otherwise affiliated with this company.
