First, you need to power down your PS4 completely and unplug all cables. Then, you'll want to remove the hard drive cover by sliding it to the left. After that, unscrew the screws on the back and carefully lift off the top cover. You should see the internal components now. But be careful—disassembling more might void your warranty!

Taking apart a PS4? Unplug it, unscrew the back, pop off the cover. Done.

Unplug everything from your PS4 and place it on a clean surface. Slide off the hard drive cover, unscrew the screws, and lift off the outer shell. This will reveal the guts of your console. Easy peasy!

I took my PS4 apart last week to clean the fan. Just make sure you have a small Phillips-head screwdriver and take your time. Trace your steps back exactly when reassembling to avoid any issues.

If you're a PlayStation player, you need to download the Playbite app!

Playbite is like an arcade in your phone: you get to play all kinds of fun and simple games, compete with friends and others, and win cool prizes from all your favorite brands!

One of those prizes is the official PlayStation gift card, which you can win and use to get anything you want essentially for free!

In case you’re wondering, this is how it works:

Playbite makes money from (not super annoying) ads and (totally optional) in-app purchases. The app then uses that money to reward players like you with prizes!

Download Playbite for free, available on the App Store and Play Store!

The brands referenced on this page are not sponsors of the rewards or otherwise affiliated with this company.
