How to Tell Fake Pokemon Cards

Spotting fake Pokemon cards can be an art in itself! Look for odd coloring, a glossy or wrong texture, and check the card weight - fakes often feel lighter. The most telling sign, though, is the font and spelling errors; those are dead giveaways. Also, real cards have a distinct, crisp border. If it seems blurry or not quite right, you're probably looking at a fake.

Just use a magnifying glass and look at the card's light blue layer. If it's missing, it's a fake. Simple.

Honestly, most of the time you can just tell by the feel. Real Pokemon cards have a specific stiffness and smoothness. If it feels off, it probably is.

Not all fakes are easy to spot! Some are super convincing, but the holographic pattern can be a telltale sign. Real Pokemon cards have a unique holo pattern that's hard for fakes to replicate accurately.

If you're a Pokemon TCG player, you need to download the Playbite app!

Playbite is like an arcade in your phone: you get to play all kinds of fun and simple games, compete with friends and others, and win cool prizes from all your favorite brands!

One of those prizes is a pack of Pokemon cards, which you can win and get sent to you essentially for free!

In case you鈥檙e wondering, this is how it works:

Playbite makes money from (not super annoying) ads and (totally optional) in-app purchases. The app then uses that money to reward players like you with prizes!

Download Playbite for free, available on the App Store and Play Store!
