Look at the hard drive size. Original Xbox 360 models typically have 20GB, while newer ones come with 120GB, 250GB, or even more.
If the console has a glossy finish and touch-sensitive buttons, it's probably an Xbox 360 Slim. The older models are bulkier and have physical buttons.
If your console is black and has no front-facing disc tray, you鈥檝e got an Xbox 360 E, the last iteration of the 360 line.
The power button shape can give it away. A flat, round power button usually indicates an original model, while a different shape points to a newer version.
