From experience, just hit 'P' or the equivalent on your console to open the social menu, click the headset icon, and shazam! You're chatting with your friends.

Easy peasy! Just open the social menu (press 'P' on PC). Then, click on the headset icon to switch to the Party Channel. Now you can chat with your squad!
