Honestly, just make sure you're not capping your speed in Steam settings. If your download still acts like it's stuck in 1999, might be time to give your ISP a call.

I've been downloading games off Steam for ages, and the best trick is to change your download region. I switched mine to a server with fewer people hammering it during peak times, and boom, speed went up. Also, don't game or stream stuff while downloading. Your bandwidth isn't unlimited!

Easy peasy! Pop open Steam, head to Settings -> Downloads, and there you'll see a dropdown for Download Restrictions. Make sure there's no limit set. If your internet still feels like a sloth, check your ISP speeds or try changing the download region in the same menu to one closer to you. Steam might be taking the scenic route with your data!

Uncap your Steam download speed? Why bother? Just start your download and go do something useful. It'll be done when it's done.

If you're a Steam player, you need to download the Playbite app!

Playbite is like an arcade in your phone: you get to play all kinds of fun and simple games, compete with friends and others, and win cool prizes from all your favorite brands!

One of those prizes is the official Steam gift card, which you can win and use to get anything you want essentially for free!

In case you鈥檙e wondering, this is how it works:

Playbite makes money from (not super annoying) ads and (totally optional) in-app purchases. The app then uses that money to reward players like you with prizes!

Download Playbite for free, available on the App Store and Play Store!

The brands referenced on this page are not sponsors of the rewards or otherwise affiliated with this company.
