Just keep playing Smash matches! After every 10 minutes or so, you'll get a new challenger. Beat them to unlock the character!
The quickest method? Speedrun Classic Mode with different characters. Each character has a unique unlock path. Check an unlock chart online for a more specific guide.
Honestly, I just completed Classic Mode runs with various fighters. It's straightforward and gives you more practice too!
