Just get Mallowsweet. Merlin Trials won't even blink at you without it.

Unlocking Merlin Trials in Hogwarts Legacy is pretty straightforward but super cool! You gotta progress a bit in the story until you reach the point where you're introduced to these trials by Professor Fig. After that, you'll need to gather Mallowsweet leaves, which are essential for activating the trials. You can find these leaves growing in pots around the open world or buy them from specific vendors. Once you have some Mallowsweet leaves, just head over to a Merlin Trial stone, use the leaf, and bam, you're ready to test your magic!

Honestly, thought it'd be more complicated, but it's a breeze. Found my first batch of Mallowsweet leaves for free just exploring around Hogwarts. Used them on a stone marker with weird symbols, and the trial started right up. It's a blast figuring out each trial's puzzle!
