Just plug your controller into the Xbox Series X with a USB cable, go to Settings > Devices & connections > Accessories, then select your controller and choose the 'Update' option. Easy peasy!

If you wanna update wirelessly, go to Settings > Devices & connections > Accessories on the Xbox, select your controller, and if an update is available, the system will prompt you to update. No cable needed, but make sure your controller's charged!

Pro tip: Use the Xbox Accessories app on a Windows 10 PC for the update. Connect your controller via USB or Bluetooth, launch the app, and it'll notify you if an update's available.
