First-hand experience here: Plugging in my mic directly to the controller worked perfectly. Just make sure to tweak the volume and input settings under 'Devices' in the menu. Happy gaming!
Honestly, most mics are plug and play. If it doesn't work, it's probably broken!
Super easy! Just plug your mic into the PS4 controller's headphone jack, and you're good to go! Make sure you adjust the mic settings under 'Devices' in the settings menu.
