Just slap the bait onto any rod that ain’t the bamboo one. And for those fancy tackle effects? Gotta have that Iridium Rod, chief.

Honestly, bait’s great, but fishing’s all about that RNG life. Don’t sweat the small stuff.

To use bait in Stardew Valley, first, make sure you've upgraded your fishing rod to at least the Fiberglass Rod because the starter Bamboo Rod won't do the trick. Right-click (or the equivalent button on your platform) on the bait in your inventory, then right-click on the rod. Boom, baited! For tackle, you’ll need the Iridium Rod. Tackle can be attached in a similar way by right-clicking the tackle, then the rod. Remember, bait speeds up fish bites, and tackle adds special effects to make your fishing adventure even easier!

If you're a Stardew Valley player, you need to download the Playbite app!

Playbite is like an arcade in your phone: you get to play all kinds of fun and simple games, compete with friends, and win cool prizes from all your favorite brands!

That includes gift cards from all of your favorite gaming platforms, like PlayStation, Xbox, Nintendo, Steam and more... which you can win and use to get anything you want essentially for free!

In case you’re wondering, this is how it works:

Playbite makes money from (not super annoying) ads and (totally optional) in-app purchases. The app then uses that money to reward players like you with prizes!

Download Playbite for free, available on the App Store and Play Store!
