You can equip the flashlight from your inventory by pressing the 'I' key, then right-click on the flashlight to hold it. Just remember to keep an eye on the battery level!

I usually hit 'L' to turn on the flashlight. Got me out of some seriously tight spots in the game!

Not sure why you'd even need a flashlight when you can just use a torch. Way more reliable, IMO.
