Honestly, I've found the forge mechanics a bit clunky. It's cool that you can make your own gear, but getting all the materials can be a bit of a grind. Still worth it for those sweet, sweet weapons though.
Using the forge in Palworld is pretty straightforward once you get the hang of it! First, you gotta make sure you've collected enough resources - think ores, woods, stuff like that. Then, head over to your forge in your base. If you haven't built one yet, you'll need to do that using the base building menu. Once you're at the forge, select the item you wanna craft and make sure you've got all the necessary materials. Hit the craft button and voila! You've got yourself a new gear or tool. Remember, the more you upgrade your forge, the cooler stuff you can make.
