Just press the L3 button (left stick) if you're playing Reignited Trilogy, and Sparx will point you in the direction of the nearest gem. Happy hunting!
In the original games, it wasn't possible to use Sparx to find gems, but in the Reignited Trilogy, use the L3 button or press down on the left stick.
As someone who completed the trilogy 100%, trust me, pressing L3 for Sparx saved me tons of time! Make sure to use it often.
