After you build something in Slime Rancher, just access the Gadget Mode by pressing 'T' on your keyboard or the right bumper on controllers. Then, you can place gadgets in designated build sites and interact with them like a pro!

Simply put, once you build a gadget, activate Gadget Mode and place it in a build site on your ranch.
