Just keep playing! The game will periodically challenge you with new fighters. Beat them to unlock them. Easy peasy, right?

To unlock characters in Super Smash Bros Ultimate, just play through the World of Light adventure mode or play Smash battles and wait for challengers to approach you. Who knew beating up your friends could be so productive?

Don't forget, using amiibos can unlock characters too. Collect 'em all and watch your roster grow!

You can also unlock characters by completing specific Classic Mode runs. Each character you finish Classic Mode with unlocks a new challenger. It's like a scavenger hunt, but with more punches.

...you need to download the Playbite app!

Playbite is like an arcade in your phone: you get to play all kinds of fun and simple games, compete with friends and others, and win cool prizes from all your favorite brands!

This includes gift cards from all your favorite brands, like Amazon, Starbucks, Apple, Roblox, and many, many more!

In case you're wondering, this is how it works:

Playbite makes money from (not super annoying ads) and (totally optional) in-app purchases. The app then uses that money to reward players like you with prizes!
