Chop is OP for NPC grinding since most of them use swords. Trust me, it saved my bacon more than once!
Chop fruit is decent for beginners since you won't have to worry about sword attacks, but you'll probably want to upgrade to something better as you progress.
Honestly, Chop is good early game, but you'll outgrow it quickly. There are way better fruits out there.
