Not really. Felt like they could've done more with the upgrade. Classic GTA games are a blast, but the definitive edition left me wanting more improvements. Stick with the originals or wait for a sale.
Honestly, only if you're really into nostalgia. The upgrades are nice but don't expect a complete overhaul. The essence of GTA is still there, which is great, but it's pretty much the same game but prettier. If you've never played the originals, it might be worth it for you.
