Nope, it's not technically over! The 2011 anime covers up to the 13th Hunter Chairman Election arc, but the manga is still ongoing (sporadically, thanks to Togashi's hiatuses). Stay hopeful!

Sadly, it's on an indefinite hiatus. The anime hasn't been continued since 2014, but who's to say Togashi won't surprise us one day?
Unfortunately, the anime is on a break with no new episodes since 2014, but the manga's still kicking! Fingers crossed for more Gon adventures!
