As of now, NBA 2K does not support cross-generation play. If you're on next-gen, you can only play with other next-gen users.

Nope, NBA 2K isn't cross-gen. You can only play with others who have the same generation of console.

I ran into this issue myself. NBA 2K doesn't allow cross-gen play, so my PS4 friends couldn't join my PS5 game.
