Splatoon 2 isn't directly connected to Splatoon 1 in terms of story or progress, but it builds on its predecessor with new features and content. Your progress from Splatoon 1 doesn't carry over, so you'll have to start fresh in Splatoon 2. Still, fans of the original will find plenty of familiar fun!
