Nope, Steam isn't a monopoly. True, they're the big dog in the PC gaming yard, but there's plenty of other pups playing too. You've got Epic Games Store, GOG, Origin, and more. It's like having a favorite ice cream shop; sure, you might go to the same place for your mint chip fix, but that doesn't mean it's the only place to get ice cream.

Steam's definitely leading the pack, but it's not a monopoly. I've bought games on multiple platforms because sometimes, deals or exclusives make it worth it. So, while Steam has a big shadow, there's still plenty of sunlight for other platforms.

I disagree with the monopoly label. Steam's just doing their thing, and doing it well. If they were a monopoly, we wouldn't see competitors like Epic or Ubisoft jumping into the digital storefront ring with gusto. They keep Steam on its toes!

Steam? Monopoly? Hardly. It's just the first choice for many cuz it's got a massive library and solid features. But competition is just a click away. Ever heard of a little thing called the Epic Games Store? Yeah, these guys are giving free games every week. Competition is alive and well, my friend.

If you're a Steam player, you need to download the Playbite app!

Playbite is like an arcade in your phone: you get to play all kinds of fun and simple games, compete with friends and others, and win cool prizes from all your favorite brands!

One of those prizes is the official Steam gift card, which you can win and use to get anything you want essentially for free!

In case you鈥檙e wondering, this is how it works:

Playbite makes money from (not super annoying) ads and (totally optional) in-app purchases. The app then uses that money to reward players like you with prizes!

Download Playbite for free, available on the App Store and Play Store!
