Nah, don't even bother. Most Chromebooks can barely handle running Google Docs smoothly, let alone Steam. Plus, the whole process of setting it up is a headache.

Technically yes, but it's not as straightforward as installing it on Windows or Mac. Chromebooks run Chrome OS, which is based on Linux. Recently, Google has been working to integrate Linux (Beta) on Chromebooks, which allows you to run Linux apps. This means that with some tweaks, you can install the Linux version of Steam on your Chromebook. However, keep in mind that not all Chromebooks have the hardware to support gaming, so your experience might vary.

I got Steam running on my Chromebook by enabling Linux (Beta) and installing the Linux version of Steam. It works, but honestly, unless you have a high-end Chromebook, it's more of a proof-of-concept than a practical gaming setup. Big titles are pretty much a no-go, but some indie games run fine.

If you're a Steam player, you need to download the Playbite app!

Playbite is like an arcade in your phone: you get to play all kinds of fun and simple games, compete with friends and others, and win cool prizes from all your favorite brands!

One of those prizes is the official Steam gift card, which you can win and use to get anything you want essentially for free!

In case you鈥檙e wondering, this is how it works:

Playbite makes money from (not super annoying) ads and (totally optional) in-app purchases. The app then uses that money to reward players like you with prizes!

Download Playbite for free, available on the App Store and Play Store!

The brands referenced on this page are not sponsors of the rewards or otherwise affiliated with this company.
