Short answer: yes. Long answer: Yessssss. If you're into the lore, Apex Legends is a playground of Titanfall 2 references and continuation of its universe.
Yeah, they're totally connected! Apex Legends is set in the same universe as Titanfall 2, just happens a few decades later. It's like the cool, battle royale cousin of Titanfall 2. You won't see Titans roaming around, but you'll catch a lot of references and Easter eggs in Apex that tie back to the Titanfall series. Plus, some of the weapons and lore in Apex are straight out of Titanfall!
Let me tell you from experience, playing both games gives you this 'Aha!' moment every time you notice a connection. Apex Legends does a great job of throwing in nods to Titanfall 2 without needing to pilot a giant mech. It's like finding Easter eggs that make you appreciate both games even more.
