Absolutely! Akira Toriyama based Goku on the Monkey King from the classic Chinese novel 'Journey to the West.' Those tails and flying clouds didn't just pop out of nowhere!

Yes, Dragon Ball's Goku draws heavy inspiration from Sun Wukong, the Monkey King, with his mischievous nature and amazing martial arts skills.

As someone who loves both 'Journey to the West' and Dragon Ball, I can confidently say that Akira Toriyama definitely took inspiration from the Monkey King. Goku's early adventures, in particular, have a lot of parallels!

Totally! You can see the influence clearly in Goku's character and adventures, which mirror Sun Wukong's journey.
