Nope, Plants vs Zombies wasn't influenced by Monster Bash. PvZ's creator, George Fan, mentioned in interviews that the game was inspired by other tower defense games and his desire to make something unique with plants defending against zombies. The whole Monster Bash connection is more of a myth or a misunderstanding. PvZ stands on its own with its quirky take on the tower defense genre.

Absolutely not. Monster Bash and PvZ are two entirely different games with different gameplay mechanics and themes. Saying PvZ was inspired by Monster Bash is like saying a tomato is inspired by an apple because they're both fruits. They're just not the same thing.

I remember reading somewhere that George Fan, the creator of PvZ, was actually more inspired by card games and wanted to make the plants feel like collectible cards that you use to defend against zombies. So, no Monster Bash influence there.
