As a fan of both, I can say Splatoon feels pretty unique. The gameplay and style don’t really match Ika Musume’s vibe!

Not officially! Splatoon was developed by Nintendo, and the creators have said they came up with the concept independently. But hey, squids and ink? It’s easy to see how people might connect the dots!

Nope. Splatoon’s creators said they didn't use Ika Musume as inspiration. Squid girls just happen to be awesome across the board!
