Nope, the SNES version of Mortal Kombat didn't have a blood code. Instead, they replaced the blood with sweat. Gross, but true!

The SNES version definitely missed out on the gory fun. Sega Genesis had the blood code, not SNES.

SNES players got sweat, not blood. Sega Genesis was where you could unleash the real gory mayhem with the blood code.

As a kid, I played the SNES version and was quite let down by the lack of blood. It was sweat city!

From my endless nights playing MK on both systems, I can confirm: SNES was blood-free, Genesis was bloody awesome.

If you're a Mortal Kombat player looking for extra coins or other power-ups, you need to download the Playbite app!

Playbite is like an arcade in your phone: you get to play all kinds of fun and simple games, compete with friends, and win cool prizes from all your favorite brands!

Two of those prizes are the official App Store and Play Store gift cards, which you can win and use to get anything you want in Mortal Kombat essentially for free!

In case you鈥檙e wondering, this is how it works:

Playbite makes money from (not super annoying) ads and (totally optional) in-app purchases. The app then uses that money to reward players like you with prizes!

Download Playbite for free, available on the App Store and Play Store!
